In-Home Child Care

Jubilee Heritage Family Resources-In-Home Child Care program offers a complimentary/alternative to traditional Day Care services.

We can accommodate for schedules and ages of children that fall outside of normal Day Care availability.
In-Home Child Care is available 7 days a week for up to 24 hours a day, for children from birth to 12 years of age and for a maximum of 6 children in each location.

Child care is provided by selected, screened, trained, and approved private individuals who are continually monitored and supported by Jubilee, Ministry of Education Child Care Quality Assurance & Licensing Branch, and the Greater City of Sudbury Children’s Services.

In-Home Child Care locations are situated throughout the Sudbury District and Area.

Licensed Home Child Care can help you make a quality child care choice. Our home child care programs offer children individualized care in small group settings that often become, ‘a home away from home’. 

Choosing Licensed Home Child Care

 

Our providers homes are welcoming and comforting for children of all ages and our Home Child Care Program provides the following:

Providers utilize community programs such as the EarlyON Centres, Sudbury Public Library, neighbourhood parks and Splash Pads, Science North

Why Choose a Licensed Home Child Care Program?

  • Blemish Free Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check for provider AND anyone living in the home over 18 years of age.
  • Home MUST be smoke free
  • ALL family members must have up-to-date immunizations
  • ALL pets must have their rabies vaccines
  • Standard First Aid Level C CPR & AED (incl. infant/child)
  • House insurance which covers the home-based business
  • Child car seat restraint information session provided by the Public Health Sudbury and Districts and vehicle insurance which covers children in care (if transporting)
  • Must adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act regulations
  • Compliance with fire and health inspections
  • Follow the Ministry of Education professional resources to plan a curriculum based on the individual needs and development of each child in care
  • We provide scheduled and unscheduled home visits

  • free use of large equipment such as strollers, cots and feeding chairs (based on availability)

Birth to 2 Years of Age

Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than three children under two years of age.

2 to 4 Years of Age

Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than six children under twelve years of age. 
(Please note that Unregulated Home Child Care providers may only have five children under twelve years of age)

Before and After School (including school holidays)

Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than six children under twelve years of age.

How can I become a Licensed Home Child Care Provider?

If you have answered yes, to the questions above, then becoming a Licensed Home Child Care Provider is only steps away.

Once you have reviewed the provider package, completed the Provider Application, we are one step closer to beginning the 3 Step Approval Process! Every potential provider and those living in the home over 18 years of age must have a blemish free criminal record check (vulnerable sector).

3 Step Approval Process

This process is done at your pace, there is no specific time frame to complete it in.  Our Home Consultants support you as you establish your home based business.  Below you will find some key points we cover during the approval process; this is not a complete listing.

1st Visit:

  • Review Vulnerable Sector Checks
  • Review the Caregiver Handbook
  • Complete a premise evaluation
  • Review some policies and procedures
  • Provide documents to be posted
  • Provide health and safety resource from the Public Health Unit
  • Review what must be complete prior to fire/health inspections
  • Discuss Insurance Requirements

2nd Visit:

  • Review the Alternate Caregiver Policy
  • Provide samples of menus and curriculum
  • Review cleaning/sanitizing policy and sample schedule
  • Review fire/health inspection reports

3rd Visit:

  • Complete Child Care and Early Years Act Highlights checklist
  • Review the Fee Structure and Invoicing policy
  • Complete the Home Child Care Caregiver Agreement and additional policies and procedures
  • Issue the Home Approval Certificate 

Following this 3 step approval process you will be an Approved Home Child Care Provider through our Licensed Home Child Care Agency and will receive your Home Approval Certificate as well as Approved by a Licensed Home Child Care Agency Signage provided by the Ministry
